My Dad used this folding drafting table when he took a correspondence course in construction cost estimation in the 1950s– I have had it since I moved away from home in 1987.

I posted a creative commones licensed photo of the table to flickr when I was re-staining the old table. A Photoshop tutorial site used it as part of a lesson on how to create an image that looked like a blueprint on the table, and later a biologist who authored a research paper in the journal Cell, used the same table as part of an image that appeared on the cover of the journal.

The audio of my Mom’s voice came from a blog post on this where I wrote about learning that my Dad was an early distance learner.
